DESCRIPTION
Our client, a well-established and respected insurance brokerage, is looking to appoint a Commercial Claims Handler to join their Manchester-based Claims team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced claims professional who enjoys delivering outstanding customer service, managing claims from first notification through to settlement, and building strong relationships with clients, insurers, and key stakeholders. You\'ll join a collaborative environment where quality service, professionalism, and customer outcomes are at the heart of everything they do, with the flexibility of hybrid working.
Responsibilities:
\" Manage new and existing claims in line with company procedures and agreed service standards.
\" Gather the information needed to establish liability and progress claims efficiently.
\" Register new claims accurately and keep records updated throughout the life of each claim.
\" Maintain clear and accurate claims files, ensuring all activity is fully documented.
\" Submit completed client claim documentation to insurers in a timely manner.
\" Respond to telephone enquiries professionally and deliver a high standard of customer service.
\" Process incoming correspondence within agreed service levels.
\" Manage client enquiries promptly and keep clients informed throughout the claims process.
\" Liaise with insurers, loss adjusters and other service providers to progress claims.
\" Provide guidance and support to clients from notification through to settlement.
\" Issue claim settlements promptly upon receipt.
\" Maintain an organised diary and proactively follow up outstanding actions.
What we are looking for:
\" Previous experience in insurance claims handling is essential.
\" A good understanding of FCA regulations and claims handling best practice.
\" Experience using claims systems, with Acturis experience being advantageous.
\" Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Teams.
\" Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
\" Strong organisational and time management skills.
\" The ability to prioritise work and manage a busy workload.
\" A proactive approach and the confidence to use your own initiative.
\" The ability to build strong relationships with clients, insurers and colleagues.
\" A commitment to continuous professional development, with CII qualifications desirable.
