Protector Insurance, one of the fastest growing insurers in the UK, is expanding its expert Motor Engineering team and is seeking a skilled Vehicle Damage Assessor / Motor Engineer to join its Manchester city centre office. This role offers the opportunity to progress within a forward-thinking and ambitious insurer.
The Role:
The Motor Engineer will play a vital role in the claims process, delivering accurate assessments and exceptional outcomes for customers and the business. They will act as a trusted technical expert, supporting the team and driving best practices across all aspects of vehicle damage assessment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expert Assessment: Review vehicle damage estimates with precision, investigating and challenging repair costs where appropriate.
- Cost Control: Manage repair costs effectively, ensuring fair and accurate outcomes without compromising quality or customer satisfaction.
- Collaboration & Support: Work closely with claims handlers and external assessors, offering technical guidance to achieve the right result first time.
- Technical Leadership: Share knowledge across the team, staying up-to-date with Thatcham methods and industry developments to promote best practice.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in vehicle damage repair, ideally from an insurer-approved Bodyshop.
- Technical proficiency in Audatex is essential, with confidence using Microsoft Office and other industry software.
- Sharp analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.
- A proactive, self-motivated attitude with a collaborative approach.
- HGV experience is desirable but not essential.
