DESCRIPTION
Our client, a leading manufacturer based on the Fylde coast now has an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Manager to lead their team of 3. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the efficient flow of parts from suppliers to the warehouses.
In this exciting role, you will play a critical role in optimising the supply chain for efficiency and cost effectiveness, while ensuring alignment with our commitment to ESG principles.

Duties include:
Overseeing the daily management of the purchasing team.
Managing suppliers, including performance evaluation and negotiations.
Sourcing and onboarding new suppliers
Regular collaboration, support, and auditing, of existing suppliers to ensure compliance, ethical sourcing practices and alignment with our carbon reduction and UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Demand forecasting and inventory planning.
Production and management of tenders.
Inter-departmental liaison with relevant stakeholder including Research and Development, Product Design, QA and Sales.
Supplier contingency planning and management of supplier risk management programs.
The successful candidate will have:
Excellent experience in purchasing management, with a proven track record of optimising processes and driving efficiency.
CIPS qualified (or part-qualified)
Proven track record of managing and leading a team.
Have a genuine interest in procurement practices.
Passionate about sustainability practices and customer focus.
Strategic knowledge of supply chain management.
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
